Completed Projects
DJM Construction is capable of performing successfully on projects valued in excess of $55,000,000 ranging from technology upgrades, modernizations, and restorations to new construction, civil engineering, and seismic upgrades. We have received many awards for excellence in both design and construction. Below are a few samples of the type of projects we have successfully completed.

This 70,436 SF new elementary school design combines the "L" shaped two story classroom building with a center court play area providing a safe and controlled teaching environment. This school is designed for an urban site with careful consideration to the natural elements of trees and open space. A one story Multi-Purpose Room and Library are contiguous with a covered lunch area with views of the center courtyard and play areas. The kindergarten and administration are combined into one building with the underground parking designed to maximize the playground area.
New construction of 50,000 square foot three-building complex to be used for education and training for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department. Main building consists of two-story metal frame, steel truss training center with administrative offices and classrooms. Other buildings include: a Hazardous Deployment Squadron (office and storage facility) and a Tactical Training Center (AK-47 rated with simulated fog, smoke, and rain).

This project included the construction of a 45,000 square foot, two-story, new elementary school for a hardship school district. The project also included a 20,000 square foot underground parking structure with a play field on top slab and a 3,000 square foot preschool. The project called for onsite and offsite improvement work that included demolition of existing improvements, site utility improvements, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, built-up roofing, landscape, and irrigation.

Working with the community and outside consultants, planners in the City of Los Angeles’ Department of Parks and Recreation and DJM Construction have managed to balance the wishes to preserve the uniqueness of this historical community with goals for modernized, beautiful facilities, and better security. Renovation included a new children’s play park, a revamped basketball court, restored historic pagodas, new benches and street lights, a drop-in station for LAPD and office for Recreation and Parks staff, landscaping up and down the Boardwalk, and a fountain.

Project required demolition of existing structures and facilities to accommodate the construction of new maintenance/parking facilities with office areas. The project was phased and Phase I called for construction of the new 27,103 SF maintenance/parking facility followed by Phase II demolition which allowed for future construction. Received Design/Construction Award: March – April 2000, Design Cost Data Magazine.

Project consisted of the modernization and addition to existing fire station. Addition consisted of new construction of a 6,885 SF two-story steel frame addition with training room and administrative office space, exterior concrete masonry units and concrete roof tiles. Included in the modernization and addition were: seismic upgrades, concrete, sitework, HVAC, plumbing, electrical work, steel tube columns, steel beams and open web steel joists, new doors, windows, and finishes. Exterior features include a parking lot and landscaping.

This school consists of two beautifully designed buildings located in the heart of Los Angeles, between Downtown LA and the Mid-Wilshire District. The school's unique design incorporates the use of concrete columns and generously proportioned windows to provide an abundance of natural light to the students. One level of underground parking was incorporated into the design to conserve space and maximize the student playground area.
